Using education to politicize the Roma community Vol. 2

The publication published in two volumes was made as part of the FRS’ program of political education implemented in 2016 and 2017. One of the goals of the program was to provide students with the knowledge in the broad field of economic and political theory and history, which is absent from conventional education programs dedicated to the Roma community.

Accordingly, the articles in the two volumes include a wide range of topics: housing and employment of Roma, the position of collectors of secondary raw materials and the Strategy for social inclusion of Roma are just some of the problems related to the Roma community that are critically discussed.

The systemic discrimination of the Roma population is not a new social phenomenon. The key issues revolve around how the existing stereotypes regarding  Roma men and women reflect on their daily living conditions and to what extent they are a part of the official state policy.
