Within the project “Positive Narratives on Roma Culture and Cultural Heritage,” the Roma Forum of Serbia and the City Municipality of Mladenovac are implementing a series of activities aimed at making Roma culture, history, and identity more visible, respected, and integrated into public discourse.
- Training sessions for employees in public institutions, civil society organizations, and media help in recognizing and suppressing antigypsyism and stereotypes.
- Manuals offer practical guidelines and information on the right to equality, terminology, as well as concrete measures that can be taken.
- The campaign includes a theater play, a radio spot, scientific lectures, and memorial tours that connect the audience with Roma heritage in an innovative and emotional way.
- Media training strengthens professional capacities for responsible and ethical reporting.
These activities are not symbolic – they directly influence attitude change, strengthen the voice of the Roma community, and help institutions improve their practices.
More than 2,000 citizens have already actively participated in project events, demonstrating the public’s growing interest in building a more inclusive society.
